August Top 13: Some of Our Favorite Local Small Businesses

August 13, 2020 | By Noise 13

Small local merchants need our support more than ever. Here are a few of our favorites from across the Bay Area, including a number of black-owned businesses as we celebrate National Black Business Month.

Part bookstore, part art gallery, part clothing store, Park Life has been a long-time favorite of ours. You can venture out to their sweet space in the Inner Richmond or shop online.

Cleanse yourself of COVID-19 vibes with healing crystals from The Love of Ganesha on Haight st. in San Francisco. The expansive store is a mecca for the spiritually inclined looking for charms and talismans to help keep the positive energy flowing.

Satisfy your sweet tooth at Sweet Adeline Bake Shop nestled on the border of Berkeley and Oakland. Delicious cafe drinks and mouth-watering baked goods are a sure fire way to lift anyone’s spirits.

If these clutches from Iva Jewell don’t bring a smile to your masked face, we are not sure what will.

Indulge in the amazing jewelry from CanDid Art. This Oakland-based designer handcrafts one-of-a-kind, chic accessories that will turn heads on zoom calls and trips to the grocery store.

Pick up a box of modern French style pastries from b. Patisserie. For all of our friends not living in San Francisco, these tasty pastries are worth the bridge toll.

Farm : Table is a very cozy micro-cafe specializing in mostly local, sustainable, and homemade ingredients. Do not miss their naughty croissant sandwich.

Feel good about feeling good at Berner’s on Haight. One of San Francisco’s best cannabis dispensaries is open for business and employs individuals affected by the war on drugs through the Cannabis Equity Program.

Catch a summertime sugar high with one of the exceptional pies from Oakland’s Pietisserie. Pick-up at one of their SF Bay Area locations or have a peach cobbler delivered to your doorstep.

With a mantra of, “We love weed almost as much as we love San Francisco.” you know SF ROOTS is a business you want to support.

An all-vegan grocery store in North Beach, Green Taste ensures your rare trip out of the house will be a happy and healthy one.

A design studio and flower shop, Ampersand, feels like a fresh and fun space for gathering, creativity, community, and everything floral. You can visit the mood-boosting studio in the Mission or shop online.

Even a socially distanced picnic needs a great beverage. Redfield Cider Bar & Bottle Shop, in the heart of Rockridge, is locally owned by a young couple and just celebrated its one-year anniversary. Their wide selection of ciders is enough to entertain everyone’s palette.
