Designing for Modern Luxury

Our Opportunity


BAMO, a San Francisco-based, internationally renowned interior design firm, approached Noise 13 to rethink the way they presented their work—both in print and online. The company’s portfolio needed to be elegant, functional, modern and authentic. Above all, it needed to showcase the luxury firm’s caliber of work.

We started by addressing their immediate need which was an updated website, and once a direction was established, were able to seamlessly transition the same design principles onto their printed catalog.


Our Approach


The first step in any project is to start a dialogue. We met with BAMO’s employees, partners, clients, and media associates so that we could listen to and understand each group’s specific needs and goals.

From our initial assessments and insights, we established three key goals. BAMO’s new website needed to:


Emphasize BAMO’s versatility. Although the firm is well-known for their hospitality work, their equally impressive residential portfolio was often overlooked.


Show who BAMO is. At the heart of BAMO’s success is their creative professionals, and they deserved to be thoughtfully featured. We ensured the people and the personality of the firm were well represented by restructuring their team page and adding a blog.


Provide an intuitive and integrated user experience for both desktop and mobile devices.

Design elements from the website translated seamlessly into the printed pieces—keeping the personality of the firm while retaining an elegant aesthetic. A choice was made to create three printed catalogs: Commercial, Residential, and a less content-heavy Company brochure. This approach provided the client maximum versatility when sending and re-ordering collateral. Small touches like the blind embossed BAMO logo on the cover further elevates the pieces and hints at BAMO’s thoughtful and considered approach to design.

We gained not only a beautiful and functional website that perfectly expresses our firm, but a partner with whom we plan to continue to collaborate.

BAMO’s new presence shines across all devices. Visiting their website is now a highly engaging experience, one that showcases a carefully curated portfolio of residential and hospitality projects. Furthermore, the site reflects the experience, capabilities, and approachable personalities of BAMO’s team members.
