Avital Tours was primed for expansion. This dynamic company, led by the delightful Avital Ungar, provides locals and visitors with exceptional culinary and historical excursions. Having established themselves in San Francisco, they needed to sell more tickets, increase brand awareness, and be ready to launch in other cities. They came to us for a brand refresh that would help them meet those objectives.
Extensive research went into vetting the company’s name and updating the tagline. After several rounds of brainstorming a range of options, we determined that there was equity in the existing Avital name, as it best represents the enthusiasm that characterizes each tour. With the clever use of a colon, we created a system that allows Avital Tours to update their messaging—while maintaining their identity—as they add new offerings and new markets.
It was essential that the new logo represent the upbeat and engaging personality of the company without sacrificing elegance or professionalism. Customized letterforms make for a unique and friendly logotype, while the use of the colon allows readers to interpret meaning beyond the name. The circular motif of the colon is repeated in a complementary mark that can stand on its own, resulting in a versatile and classy brand identity.
The new website we created for Avital Tours is both modern and approachable: clear navigation allows users to quickly access tour information and buy tickets, while large and abundant photography gives a glimpse into the tour experience itself. With a playful team page layout, tour guides are positioned as expert insiders, a theme reinforced elsewhere on the site by neighborhood maps highlighting local favorites. We also identified user personas that represent different tour-taking individuals and groups, creating an additional gateway to the tour pages that the client can easily update to meet their changing needs.
