Design Director or ACD

We are:

A diverse and tight knit team that works collaboratively with our clients and team members to create innovative brands and visual designs from identity to print to digital. We value open minds, hard work, and good food. We pride ourselves on bringing creativity and an innovative perspective to every project, as well as seeing the big picture for our clients.

We are also seeking just the right fit of personality, brains, skills, and desire. Someone who thinks niches are overrated and seeks variety, who can bring the same level of enthusiasm and insight to everything from tech startups to specialty food brands, and anything in between.

You are:

A talented, motivated Design Director or ACD, with 8+ years of experience, that’s eager to make a big impact at a small company! You’re a natural leader, and love to inspire the team you work with. You know when and how to steer them the right direction, and when to jump in and design yourself.

You’re comfortable writing about strategy and design and love working with every phase of a project, from moodboards to mechs. You flourish in a fast-paced small studio, juggling multiple projects while never losing sight of the big picture — or the tiniest details. Your creative spirit is infectious, and drives everyone around you to do their best work that they didn’t even know they were capable of.

You are also looking for a place to really make your mark. Noise 13 is in the process of updating our positioning and planning for the next few years. This role is key in building up the team we will need to be the next best version of ourselves. This includes our passion for sustainability and equity = good for people and the planet. You need to bring your passion to this space as well.

  • A Noise 13 Associate Creative Director / Design Director is responsible for communicating strategic goals into actionable design solutions, establishing the conceptual and stylistic direction for the design staff and orchestrating their work, as well as the work of production professionals.
  • You will work independently and in conjunction with the CCO to evaluate design options and develop and push to find ‘big ideas.’
  • You should thrive in a collaborative environment and be egoless with your work.
  • You pride yourself on your attention to detail and are constantly honing that skill.
  • Great with timelines and managing a schedule of multiple clients/projects.
  • You will be expected to lead design critiques and foster collaboration amongst the team.
  • You’re a strong conceptual thinker and can present and sell your ideas with confidence to clients.
  • You will play an active role in building client relationships and pitching/winning new business.
  • You will be responsible for helping hire and manage outside vendors and contractors from creatives to printers, photographers and illustrators.
  • You will work directly with the CCO to hire and onboard for any full-time designers.
  • Desire to push innovation both aesthetically and technologically.
  • You will engage in a good deal of supervisory and administrative work but are still expected to roll up your design sleeves when needed.
  • You are expected to be active in the design community, representing Noise 13 as a leader in the space.
  • You have deep and current design trend knowledge and skill set.
  • You have flawlessly designed brands within a number of different industries and have at least 8 years of broad creative and management experience. You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Areas of work may include: Brand Identity, Brand Standards and Guidelines, Package Design, User Interface Design, Website Design, Mobile & Multi-touch Device Design, Print Communications, Motion Design, and Environmental Design.

This is a full-time position. Salary is based on experience but we offer competitive rates for our size of agency. We are currently conducting interviews, looking to hire immediately.
