Stay Home. Stay Healthy.
Over the last few months, we’ve been reflecting on the last 20 years of Noise 13. Through this, we’ve realized that the relationships that have been fostered in our studio are what infuse our work, and our lives, with joy. Even though staying home and staying healthy is the most important thing for all of us right now, we want to help promote those in our community (ok yes mostly our clients) that are making it better for us at home. Please support your local businesses and communities as well.
For 20 years we have partnered with so many of San Francisco’s great restaurants and chefs. Our founder, Dava, as well as many of our employees, have worked the front and the back of house. We know, first-hand, how hard it is for these types of businesses to survive, even when the economy is booming.
As local restaurants move to a take-out and delivery-only model we ask that you support them as much as possible, even if your freezer is now filled with ravioli and pot pies. Eater is providing a running list of restaurants open for business. Recently reopened in SF, World Wrapps, is among those restaurants and they are also participating in the “Buy A Healthcare Worker a Meal” program.
If you do still want to have a comforting home-cooked meal, Instacart is a fantastic grocery delivery service available in over 17,000 zip codes across North America. Bi-Rite Market is still open and has special hours for seniors. Also, the Good Food Foundation has a list of their winners who can ship deliciousness to your door. For inspiration, the amazing folks at Fork Full of Earth and Just Add Salt will be sharing all kinds of recipes and tips on their social channels to inspire you. And for those who like to plan ahead, Anova’s sous vide device is on sale.
We have also worked with some amazing California wine and spirits brands. Since you now have to play bartender in the safety of your own kitchen, we’d recommend getting creative with one of our favorites, Sipsong Spirits gin, and tea. You can find a list of local retailers on their website.
For our enophile friends who love (or live on) the central coast, Paso Wine has curated an amazing list of offers and activities that help bring the winery experience into your home.
We still work with many small, local brands to define who they are and help them attract a loyal following. Many of those brands are in the retail space. Now that they are being forced to close up their brick and mortar locations, we encourage you to jump online and continue shopping. Some of our current clients like Wine Country Botanicals (wonderful soap and scrubs), OM Wellness (CBD Epsom salts yes please) H2O+ (skincare), Makers Market and MyMilligram (low-dose canna) have so many lovely, stress-reducing products easily accessible from their online stores.
Part of staying well is keeping your teams connected and happy. Avital Tours usually do IRL food tasting tours but are just starting their remote team-building exercises. Bring your own snacks and learn something new.
We have also worked with Bay Area organizations that support the most vulnerable in our community, from the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation to Tipping Point to CUESA to Slow Food. Now, more than ever, these groups need your help. We need to do whatever we can to support absolutely everyone in our community at this critical point in time.
Please take care of yourself and your family, first and foremost, but if you have some energy and love to give beyond that, please join us in supporting our community of businesses and causes.
