November Top 13: Brands That Do The Holidays Best

The holiday season is upon us whether we are ready or not. So, we thought we’d get ready with the brands that do the holidays best. From campaigns to the chorus to volunteer opportunities, we’d love to hear your holiday favorites.

Even when the Christmas decor shows up before Halloween, we can’t forget about Thanksgiving. Thanks to Brit+Co for providing a list of how-tos for Friendsgiving. And to the Martha Stewart brand for keeping up the love for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Each year, instead of promoting door-busting Black Friday deals – REI stays true to their brand and promote #OptOutside, a viral campaign to skip shopping enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. They even close their stores nationwide and make sure employees are able to participate as well.

Learn to cook for that family gathering, volunteer your time, or even give a class as a gift with 18Reasons. In December they have classes for holiday baking, gingerbread houses, and even jam making as holiday gifts.

Get your holiday cards now from Paper Culture and save money and the planet. They plant trees with every order, source sustainable, and are a certified green business.

Every year since 1997, Starbucks introduces Holiday themed cups starting in November. The designs change every year – and often generate strong opinions in the process. You don’t have to love them all to appreciate the campaign idea.

San Francisco local Anchor Brewing is constantly delivering delicious limited edition brews – and we always look forward to their Christmas Ale. The blend evolves over time, as does the label illustration with a new one produced each year since 1975!

Loving the vintage-inspired graphics for the Nordstrom Holiday campaigns again this year. But we found a new way to shop for gifts on their website with this madlib inspired search function.

Talk about an immersive experience; The Fairmont offers a two-story, life-size gingerbread house in their lobby. You can stop by and take some crazy photos or you can book a private dining experience or event for several of your most festive friends!

Already one of the most colorful places, the Museum of Ice Cream’s Pinkmas claims to the sweetest holiday spectacular on earth! Complete with a Pink forest and gingerbread house, they may be right.

If you are into giving your time over gifts this season, Popsugar has a great list of ways to make an impact, and if you are in SF, then FunCheap has a list of local places to spend your volunteer time.

Macy’s Holiday display windows have sparked creativity since the 1800’s. Exclusive to SF, they team up with the SF SPCA for a special window display featuring adoptable kittens and puppies, as well as a cuddle tent and adoption center on site.

With gorgeous pre-wrapped gift sets, fun products and shopping bags for the season, Lush has gone all in on the holiday season.

And if you want to top off your holiday season with song, then the men have it down with the Gay Men’s Chorus, or The Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys.
