Time to sit around on a Sunday, drink a whole pot of tea and skim through all the design mags at Farley’s Coffee. This weekend I found a nice surprise, as one of the restaurants we designed years ago is still getting recognition in architecture magazines. The company we used for a coil curtain at Circolo Restaurant is still giving us props for the great use of their materials. Fabulous!

Our new office is more spacious, more modern, has central heating, and is conveniently located near South Park, at 599 Third Street, Suite 301.

Also, keep your eyes open for some of our most recent projects. Around town, watch for Personality Hotels’ new reinvigorated brand, and in Napa check out Folio Winemakers’ Studio & Enoteca.

As fun as it is to manipulate type in illustrator, it just doesn’t compare to the time, feel or mess that you get from playing with metal and wood type. This was my third class at Center for the Book. I highly recommend it to anyone who plays with pixels all day.

I just saw this article on Treehugger about two new hybrid vehicles. While it doesn’t look like there’s room for the golf clubs, the claimed 300mpg and 600 mile range for the gas-electric model is exciting. Interestingly, they used monitors in the dash as a replacement for side-view mirrors, giving you a near heads up display and a slippery exterior. Unfortunately the proposed $30k price tag will put this out of reach for most. Find more info on the manufacturers web site.
