Alvin Lustig

A Kind Company (New York) has recently put up an educational site dedicated to the works of Alvin Lustig (www.alvinlustig.org), a Modern American Designer. Lustig (1915 – 1955) was a true Renaissance man in the world of Design, working on everything from his typographically-driven book jackets, to Furniture Design and Architecture. He was also one of the first designers of his time to borrow from the Modernist Painting and Sculpture movement, incorporating beautiful abstract symbols and marks into many of his book covers. His work, nearly 50 years later, is still poignant and fresh. Kudos to A Kind Company for assembling such an informative and complete collection of his work.
